First of all, may all the other athletes forgive me, but Romain Barras's performance gave me the chills! He finished his first decathlon in FOUR years! Scoring 8001 pts at that! Ro, I know the road travelled. I know what you have been through and this one really hits home!
Then, let's not forget Kevin Mayer who scored this year's World leading performance with 8469 pts for a first decathlon in which he did not take all attempts, and this right at the tail end of a tiring training camp. Good job kid! Well done Bertrand Valcin.
